Since graduating from high school, Doug has received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Music Education. He also received his Master's degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Utah. Doug taught Instrumental Music at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah for 5 years. He has been teaching Instrumental Music at Port Angeles High School in Port Angeles, Washington for the past 15 years. Doug has received Outstanding Educator awards many times during his teaching career. He has taken bands on tour to California, Idaho, Washington D.C., Vancouver, B.C., and Beijing, China. Doug and his wife, Jolene, have taught together at Bingham High School and at Port Angeles High School. His wife is the choral director and Dance Team coach.
Doug is marries to Jolene Dalton Gailey (76 graduate of Bonneville H.S.)
They have 2 children, Josh (17) and Justin (15). Both sons are excellent
students and accomplished musicians. The Gailey family enjoys backpacking
and travel. They have just returned from a summer spent in Europe.
