I attended Weber State University and majored in Police Science and Home
Economics. I soon realized I was too small to be a cop; I wasn’t much of a
threat so I dropped that. I got married to Jeff Mitchell in 1978-Dana
Parker lined us up. It has been a good match; we are very happy. We have
been blessed with 4 children. Karrie, our oldest daughter lives in Henderson,
Nevada with her husband Todd and their daughter Heidi. Next was Randy-he
is going to Weber State. He served a mission to Japan. Next is Briana.
She is getting married in August and is finishing up at Weber State this
year. Our youngest, Jay is on a mission in Hartford, Connecticut. They
are really good, good kids. I’ve done a lot of volunteer work. I taught
seminary at Wahlquist Jr. High for 4 years. That was fun. I’ve also raised
half of the neighborhood; most parents had to work so I’ve become the
neighborhood mom and "go-to" person. We love where we live. We
had a house fire and had to rebuild and I’ve had some serious health
challenges, but I’m still alive and kicking. I’m currently doing name
extraction in the ward-in French. (Mrs. Skinner would be so proud that
I remembered enough to do it.) I have a good life and am very happy.
